A probe with an extremely small input capacitance for RF measurements

In order to measure accurately voltages obtained in case of RF circuits involving high Q-factor, one must first insure that the probe should both withstand the high-voltages often involved and secondly will not perturbate what is measured. Our KTL-PR1 probe was specially designed to fit both objectives; it is able to whistand voltages up to 10kV (peak-peak values) and exhibit an extremely small input capacitance. The built-in capacitance is 0.25pF, however one as to take into account the grip self-capacitance as well as some stray capacitance that arise between the measured circuit and the proble ground. To get the lowest overall capacitance, the probe should be maintained as far as possible from the measured circuit (a thin extension wire could be used in some extreme cases).
